North Pole snow anyone?

Oh No
Twas the night before the pajama party, when all through the house..
Not a single person was stirring
Not me, Not a marshmallow, Not even a mouse.
I was supposed to be making sweet Santa hats.
5 pink hats and 6 red hats to be exact.
But sleepiness got the best of me.
Next thing I knew..morning was here.
Aghhhh
With only an hour left..
I dumped the bags in a bowl..
Hung a sign..

grabbed a shovel..

and got there in just the "Nick" of time!

Thank goodness!
I wouldn't want to keep Santa waiting.

How to get the Sweetest Santa pictures

Yep...

All you need is scissors, wrapping paper, jumbo marshmallows, straws, and a stapler.

Pictorial1. Disconnect one end of string from party hat.
2. Cut straw into 2 in. pieces.
(Do not attempt to use entire straw..Big fat Mess!)
3. Place string through 2in. straw.
4. Poke straw with string in middle through 5 marshmallows.
(If the straw gets too sticky and messy..use another 2in.piece.)
5. Pull straw off.
6. Staple string back to party hat.
7. Cover party hat with red wrapping paper or scrapbook paper and add trim.
8. Stick a jumbo marshmallow on top.
9.Get the camera.

Stomach bug to Snow Globes

Stuck inside with a Stomach bug.
She must be getting better.
I keep hearing ..
Snow globe..Snow globe.. Snow globe..
Mama.. lets make a snow globe. Thanks to a craft book..
I found out all we needed was a...
Jar
Ornament to glue to the lid
(It said waterproof glue..but I used a glue gun)

Glitter for snow.
All we had was green..but that makes it more fun.
Twist the lid back on and that's it.
Oh.. and add water
and maybe some food coloring too.

Especially having it two years in a row.

Yarn wrapping made sweeter

First
Let me apologize for all my spelling errors from yesterday's post.
Wowsers...there was a bunch!
Perhaps you noticed...or perhaps I fixed them just in time.
Now..
I would like to move on to something sweeter.
This little headband wrapped in strawberry yarn with a chocalaty bow on top.
Mmmm
Oh..
Just in case you're new around here..
"Yarn Wrapping" is something that was created yesterday.
It's for all the knitter wannabes...like myself.
Hmm...

Next..
Perhaps some soft sweater flops with "snowflakes" on top.
Come back soon!

Wrapping with Yarn

I got side tracked again!
I was supposed to be finishing up Go Go ponchos.
Instead ..I ended up in the yarn aisle...with no reason for being there.
I can't even knit or crochet.(Way past my level!)
But..All the warm winter colors..All the soft textures.
I can't resist. It's so yummy...just like the scrapbooking section!
What happens next? Someone asks ME a knitting question. (clueless!)
I tried to think of something in a "flurry".
I feel like a big dork ..as I hold a JUMBO spool of YARN in my hands. Uhm..
"Think fast Buffy"
I looked down at my White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha ...
and was reminded of the idea I found in "Family Fun" magazine.
(Cut off sweater sleeves used as coffee sleeves.) Clever huh!
Then...Inspiration hit... and (this) just came out.
"Oh"
"My kids have a project!"
Next thing I know..I was at the register with a JUMBO spool of Yarn...
and the kids have being going (Around and Around) ever since.
Your Kid's can too!

Now..
I can't stop thinking about yarn..
and all the goodies they can "wrap."

Perfect for those who still like Ice cold frappaccinos in the winter too!
Possibilities are endless!

A turkey tradition

Every Year..
on the Sunday following Thanksgiving..
the entire family Stops what they' re doing to meet at my Mom's dinner table to cherish every bite of her famous Turkey Tetrazzini.
I know I told you this month was going to be about sharing good recipes and being thankful..but I wasn't quite sure if this secret was going to be
released.
A phone call later..
I have "JOY".

My list

Hmm..
Is it OK to have a Christmas /wish list at age 32?
Well..I do. :)
I will start by saying I could use like a dozen of these. It's the one thing I don't mind splurging on. I totally believe in building a "strong" foundation! I know it might not be for everyone ...but it works great with my skin chemistry and busy lifestyle.
But Man..
I go through these little jars quick...and that would be great if they could make these with a flip top..so I don't have to keep raising them above my head to see what color I need.
Next
I could really really use:
{Good Towels}
{Silverware}
{Mixing bowls}
and maybe one each of these.
I would take anything from The Vintage Pearl though.
(Just in case the Hubby's reading)
Oh...
and last but not least..
This house that I can't stop thinking about!
Modern mixed with Craftsman.
Love that!
Don't you?
Oh wait...a Serger too.
How could I forget that!

Oh..I hear the kids waking ...time to stop thinking about Me.
Don't forget..
Possibilities are endless!

Cute as a button

Right now..it's early..and I've had way too much coffee !
Kinda nice getting up before the kids!
"Sew"...I have some things I want to share.
Found this out:
Hobby Lobby sells bags of plastic buttons. They're over in the kid crafts.
Could this be the answer to not having an Embroidery machine?
oh..and just think about the endless party favors that could be made.
Kids love wearing buttons. (or eating them)
I already have "winner ribbons" on my mind.

I just ironed a letter to some black fabric...traced the lid around it...and popped it in.

Easy as 123! Now..this Go Go poncho is custom made for sweet baby Caroline.
Don't ya just Love that name!
OK...I have a bunch of templates cut. All I need to do is drink more coffee and stay up really late for the sewing part. I hope to have them here by next week. But, if you can't wait that long...shoot me an email . Or...I found someone else who has a similar idea.
Darn it....why didn't I think of this!
But... the Go Go poncho will be more affordable you can still hang those cute little toys. Right! :DI'm almost finished!
I wanted to announce that I created my
very own running Blog List.
(Yippee)
It will show when my favorite blogs update.
It's down on the right...next to the cute little thumbnails.
So..let me know some of your favorite blogs...becuase
I don't mind holding your blog list too. I know it can be tedious running around to different blogs..to see who updated their blog. It's like an endless web!
Now..we can stay updated together.
Ok..
I will stop talking now.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

I'm working on something sassy and sweet for the holidays.
I hope to have "them" ready this week.
Nothing big...just something cute.

In the meantime..check out these purses that I can't stop thinking about.
One for days at story time and One for nights out here.
Hmm...looks like Vera Bradley knows I have a thing for green.

It took almost 30 years for me to try a caramel apple.
Weird....I know! Now..It's my favorite part of Halloween.
They await me every year.
Thanks Mom.
Oh..and did you notice this picture seems bigger than usual?
I found the easiest tutorial through a friend.

Boo bags

Well...I never had the time to make those candy corn pouches.
Instead..a cavity crisis led us to handing out playdough along with making these super
fast Boo bags

I just folded a long piece of fabric in half ...
sewed sloppy lines ...
and cut in between the lines.
Nothing fancy here! I even left the stitching to show.
Hmm...I bet pipe cleaners would make fun ties too.
Possibilities are endless!
